I've received lots of compliments on my little jewelry wall organizer, so I thought I'd make a post about it and show how simple it is. I am by far one of the most unorganized and messy people I know, but one of my resolutions for this year was to try and get my house together and keep it a little less cluttered. Mr. H is also extremely unorganized and constantly misplacing and losing things, so you can imagine what our room looks like. We are not slobs by any means. We don't leave food or trash all over our home, it's just our clothes, accessories, and shoes are
everywhere. We share a fairly small closet with a top shelf and one eight-hole cubby unit, so our clothes do not come close to fitting in their assigned places. But I do have one thing organized, and that's my jewelry and hair clip rack (and I am damn proud of this tiny bit of non-chaos).
It is so simple and yet it brings me a tiny bit of peace in my disheveled room. Can you guess what it is? If you guessed dish towel rack, you are correct! Hahaha. I bought this nifty hanger from Target for a mere $3.99 when I first bought my home a few years ago! You screw it into the wall and there you have it, a jewelry organizer! I just recently added a ribbon on the left end so that I could pin my hair clips up as well. The only thing it doesn't hold is stud earrings and bangles. You could easily add another ribbon on the right side for stud earrings, but I'm still trying to figure out what to do about the bangles issue. Any ideas?
I took care of my Aunti's shiba inu puppy on Sunday and Monday and he was so adorable. I really would love to get another dog, but we don't have time, especially since we are hoping to get pregnant soon. Not to mention, Ziggy (our chihuahua) was extremely jealous and acting like a total dick.

And last, here are some photos from my 365 project that I've been doing really well on (with the help of an iPhone app). I've always wanted to do a 365 project but always mess up and forget about it. I can't wait to put them all together once the year is over and see if my appearance has changed.
That's a cute and simple jewelry organizer!! I will definitely have to check target for this! Is it two bars in one?
ReplyDeleteYou can try this for bangles? here from Target! It's a similar idea to yours but you can't mount it. The only problem would that you'd have to take them all off if you want one near the back. And it even has that little dish to hold small (earrings, maybe?!)
That pup is beautiful!!! wow! It seems like chihuahuas get jealous really easily! lol Mine does too!
And 365 project is a photo of you every day? Grrr, I wish I thought of that 10 days ago, lol That seems really cool!!! Are you just saving the photos in a folder for now? Are you going to string them into a video? I saw a video of this girl that did that, but the photo she took was the same position/style (just her face), but it was so cool to see it change up so fast! It was each pic shown about 2 seconds or so!
Thank you! Yes, it's two bars in one. :)
DeleteThat's an awesome idea for bangles and stud earrings! I might have to go get that. I always see people using vertical things to stack bangles but I never wanted one of those because it'd be such a hassle to pull them all off. This one doesn't seem like it'd be as frustrating though, since there's two sides. Thanks for the tip!
Yes, chihuahuas seem to be extremely jealous dogs, but I think it's only because they love us so much and are so loyal! Haha. People always have such bad misconceptions about them, but they are such good dogs (at least the ones I've had and known).
The 365 project that I'm doing is a photo of myself every day, yes. I've seen people do it other ways, like just a photo of something that will remind them of that day, but I wanted to do a photo of myself each day to see change when the year is through. You can still start it and just go through January 12, 2013? :) I'm not sure how I'm going to put them together when it's done. I'm not very good at that kind of stuff. lol.
ADORABLE photos!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteHa, nice use of that towel rack! I store my jewelry on a multi-layer pant hanger. Gets the job done! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea! Probably has way more layers for jewelry hanging than the two I have available. :P
